How VoxAntivirus Works
On-device scanning and monitoring for your Windows PC — and the limits you should know.
On-device, signature-based scanning
VoxAntivirus is a Windows desktop application. It scans folders and USB drives by comparing file hashes (SHA-256) against an included signature database, and lets you quarantine, restore, or delete items you choose to act on. Scans run locally on your PC; file contents are not uploaded.
Capabilities
On-demand folder scans
Scan selected folders using SHA-256 signature matching against the included signature database.
USB scans
Scan removable USB drives for files matching known included signatures.
Scheduled scans
Run folder scans automatically on a schedule you configure.
SHA-256 signature matching
Identify files by comparing their hashes to an included signature database.
Quarantine, restore & delete
Move detected items to quarantine, then restore or delete them. Removal is limited to what you choose to act on.
Real-time folder monitoring
Monitor selected Windows folders and alert you to observed changes. It does not block threats.
Ransomware activity alerts
Alert you to suspicious activity that may indicate ransomware. It does not prevent or stop ransomware.
Download-extension checks
Flag executable file types in downloads. It does not block phishing or malicious downloads.
Windows Firewall control
View and manage Windows Firewall status and settings. VoxAntivirus does not provide its own firewall.
Important limits
- • Scans detect only known files whose hashes are included in the signature database. They do not detect unknown or emerging threats.
- • Real-time monitoring alerts you to observed changes in selected folders. It does not block threats.
- • Ransomware monitoring alerts you to suspicious activity. It does not prevent or stop ransomware.
- • Download checks flag executable file types. They do not block phishing or malicious downloads.
- • Firewall features manage the Windows Firewall. VoxAntivirus does not provide a separate firewall.
- • VoxAntivirus does not claim to protect against, block, or prevent malware, ransomware, or phishing, and does not remove threats beyond items you choose to quarantine.
Windows desktop and Android. macOS and iOS are not supported.
General safety guidance
Keep software updated
Install OS and application updates promptly and remove software you no longer use.
Be cautious with downloads
Treat unexpected executables and attachments with care, even when our check flags them.
Use trusted security software
VoxAntivirus does not block or prevent threats. Use dedicated security software for protection.
